Stroller: This stroller has been amazing! I love how you can snap the car seat into the stroller base and baby can continue napping from the car to the stroller and vice versa. The seat can be laid flat for your infant as a bassinet or sit it upright for your toddler as a seat.
Umbrella: Do yourself a favor and get a flexible umbrella that will keep baby out of the sun at all times.
Organizer: An add-on that's nice to have is the stroller organizer for things like bottles, keys, wallet, phone, etc.
Sound Machine: This portable sound machine is perfect because babies love white noise. You can take this one with you anywhere!
Bassinet: We got this Mika Micky bassinet that baby girl slept in for the first few months.
Glider: A good glider or rocker is essential! This glider in particular is super cushioned everywhere and doesn't hurt my back or make my legs fall asleep.
Dresser: This dresser is so nice because the smaller drawers can hold things like socks, bows, burp cloths, bibs, etc. The bigger drawers are great for showing all baby's clothes in the current size in one place.
Cart: I use this rolling cart every day for all the diapering essentials. Sometimes I like to change baby in the nursery, other times in the living room. Having a portable option is amazing!
Crib & Mattress: This crib and mattress are highly rated! Full disclosure: I did not use a crib as I'm fairly short.
Hamper: This hamper is just so stinkin' cute and comes in many patterns and colors.
Gate: A baby gate is essential if you want pets to stay out of certain rooms, if you have stairs to keep off, or you want to limit access to a crawling infant or a wandering toddler.
Sheets: I added a fitted crib sheet and a fitted bassinet sheet as a reminder that these things come separately.
Blankets: It's always a good idea to have different types of swaddles so you can figure out which ones you like. Some mommas prefer the muslin blankets, other mommas like the Velcro type, and there are my personal favorite: the super soft ones!
Sound Machine: This sound machine I'm still using and I love it! It has 34 different sounds, so you're bound to find one that works for your baby. It even has an app for your phone so you can control it remotely. Game changer.
Formula Magic: I know what you're thinking about this first one: so unnecessary! Wrong-O! I had someone recommend this Baby Brezza and I would never want to go back to the days before it. It's basically a Keurig for formula! You can choose the number of ounces and the temperature so easily. No need for a bottle warmer and no wasted time measuring! It has helped me keep my sanity during those late night feeds when you leave the lights off so baby doesn't fully wake up and you only have one arm free because your baby is in the other.
Bottles: These Avent bottles are amazing because they are easy to clean and just the right shape!
Formula: You may need to try a few different formulas before you settle on one that helps your baby's tummy stay settled. My baby drinks Enfamil NeuroPro.
Travel Formula Dispenser: This little formula dispenser is really nice to have for your diaper bag. You premeasure scoops of formula and then dump it in the bottle with the right amount of water. Genius!
Drying Rack: The Boon countertop drying rack is everything people hype it up to be: clean, cute, and great for air drying fast.
Bottle Brush: I use a different bottle brush just for baby girl's things so that I know there aren't going to be food particles and contaminants from regular family dishes. This Munchkin brush has a smaller bottle nipple brush that it sits on, so that's convenient.
Dish Soap: I like to use this Dapple Baby dish soap for baby girl's dishes because it's plant based, hypoallergenic, and free of fragrances, dyes, parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.
Burp Cloths: Burp cloths are essential and these Muslin burp cloths are thick and absorbent. You can never have too many.
High Chair: This Graco full size high chair is great if you have the space to spare. We ended up buying the smaller chair that goes on a table as well. It's definitely a space saver and you can take it with you to restaurants.
Bibs: I like this white bib set because you'll need quite a few. Then the long-sleeved bibs are great for protecting baby's cute outfit and they also allow you to keep calm during feedings.
Bowls: I love these bowls as they suction to the table or high chair and baby can't dump out the contents.
Spoons: These silicone spoons are amazing because they are soft on baby's teething gums.
Willow Pump: If you do plan to nurse, the Willow pump is a great investment. I hated pumping (I think most mommas do), but I hated it less when I had the Willow because I was hands free and mobile. It fits into your nursing bra. It does make some noise, so it's not like no one will notice when you're pumping, but it was a lot easier to have people over or to be out in public pumping with the Willow. You can't do a whole lot when you're plugged in to the wall or holding the traditional pump to your body! I liked the bags over the reusable containers for the Willow as they tend to keep a better seal, which is essential for pulling milk.
Nursing Cover: A nursing cover is great to have, especially a lightweight one so baby can breathe while under it and both you and baby don't get too hot. This nursing cover also has a cool peeking feature where you can see baby without sticking your head under the cover, and no one can see in except you.
Manual Pump: The Haakaa manual pump works great for when your milk lets down at the beginning of each feed. You don't want to waste that liquid gold! You can have baby nursing on one side and the Haakaa manual pump on the other side.
Nipple Shields: Nipple shields saved my breastfeeding journey! My baby didn't have a good latch initially. It was very painful until I used these shields and then eventually I stopped using them once baby's latch improved. Read more about my breastfeeding experience here in My Postpartum Journey.
Nursing Pads: You're also going to need nursing pads for when you are out in public to prevent looking like you fell face down in a shallow puddle.
Cream: Lanolin cream is a must! You'll be glad you have it as it's like Chapstick for your nipples.
Nursing Pillow: My Brest Friend Pillow is exactly what it sounds like! It worked wonders for me as I was figuring out good positions for nursing. You can secure the pillow around you at any height and it's nice and firm so you don't have to reposition once baby is latched. I got so good with it that I would actually walk around with baby nursing on the pillow!
Diaper Bag: You'll likely use your diaper bag as a purse when you're out with baby, so get one that you like the look of. I love this HaloVa diaper bag because it holds a lot, it's simple, inexpensive, and has these side pockets on either side that I use as a quick catch all for juggling bottles, water, keys, and my wallet. Diapers: For diapers, I'm a Huggies momma. I like the way the diaper's leg elastic stretches and keeps its contents inside. Some mommas swear by other brands and I totally respect that. I have added this here mostly as a friendly reminder to add diapers to your registry so everyone remembers!
Wipes: Water Wipes are great because they stay wet and they have no irritants. Your baby may have sensitive skin, so I would play it safe here.
Caddy: A little caddy with handles is nice to have so you can change baby in any room.
Changing Pads: Changing pads are amazing for protecting whatever surface you change baby on and most importantly protecting baby from the surface's germs. I use them at home and on the go. Not every public restroom has a changing table, so I've even used these BlueSnail changing pads in the trunk of my SUV.
Diaper Cream: Diaper rash cream is good to have on hand as I would argue every baby gets diaper rash at some point or another. Aquaphor healing ointment can be used for diaper rash as well as drool rash, minor scrapes, cuts, and burns.
Tub: This Boon Soak baby bathtub is perfect if you have a larger kitchen sink. There are great options for smaller sinks, too. Either way, you don't want to kneel over a regular bathtub before it's necessary, especially if you've had a C-section. Babies are like slippery fish and it's much easier to bathe a slippery fish at waist height standing up.
Shampoo & Wash: You can use any baby shampoo and soap, but I love this Aquaphor Baby Wash and Shampoo as it's gentle on baby skin, tear-free, and smells delicious without harsh fragrances.
Towels & Washcloths: Bamboo hooded towels and washcloths are so soft and absorbent! I've considered changing all my bathroom linens to bamboo because they are seriously so soft and gentle.
Bath Thermometer: I love our bath thermometer because I don't have to play a Goldilocks game while filling the tub.
Grooming Kit: It's nice to have a baby healthcare and grooming set so you have all your bases covered. I like this set because it comes with nail clippers, nail scissors, and an electric nail file. It even has a hairbrush and comb so you can have fun with baby's hair!
Nail Scissors: I have added my favorite fingernail scissors by FridaBaby as they have a great grip on the handle and they are blunt on the tips to protect baby.
Nose Bulb: This nasal aspirator, or "nose bulb" as I like to call it, is just the right size for newborns.
Medicine: The Little Remedies medicine set is awesome to have because it comes with baby Tylenol, saline drops for sticky boogers, gas relief drops, gripe water, a nasal aspirator, and butt cream.
Teething Gel: This Mommy's Bliss natural teething gel is perfect for daytime or nighttime teething pain.
Thermometer: I think a no-touch forehead thermometer is a no-brainer.
Humidifier: Humidifiers are great at putting moisture back in the air which helps with congestion.
Pacifiers: Pacifiers can be a touchy subject, but if you are going to try them, I would recommend having a few different brands to try. We tried a dozen different brands and our baby girl hates these Philips brand ones the least. Some babies just don't like pacifiers and others love them!
Laundry Detergent: You may want to buy Dreft in case the detergent you normally use for your clothes ends up irritating baby's skin.
Scent Beads: I like adding the scent booster beads to baby girl's clothes so they smell extra fresh and baby-like.
Stain Remover: Dreft stain remover is very gentle and smells great!
Disinfectant: I like this CleanSmart toy disinfectant for when other babies handle Marsie's toys and I don't have time to wash them.
Sunscreen: Babyganics sunscreen is wonderful because it's nonallergenic.
Air Purifier: I love this Germ Guardian air purifier as it works to filter out dust, allergens, smoke, and even pet dander.
Wet Vaccum: This Tineco wet vacuum is amazing! We have dogs and I can still keep the floors clean and clear for crawling by sweeping daily and using the Tineco once a week. We have tile, vinyl, and hardwood floors and this wet vacuum has seen it all!
Baby Carrier: The Infantino baby carrier is something I use daily. It's one of the most cost effective options out there. You can wear it in front of you almost from day one or behind you like a backpack once baby can hold their head up.
Play Pen: Having a pack and play like this Baby Joy one is truly luxurious! I love the bassinet and changing table features as it saved us many trips to the nursery. This is even more essential if you have stairs!
Tummy Time Mat: This tummy time mat and the toys that come with it are great for encouraging baby to lift their head up.
Swing: I would recommend this Graco swing because it is for babies up to 30 pounds, which means you will get an extra 10 pounds of usage out of it when comparing it to others. It also has a removable rocker which is great for when you need to set baby down to use the restroom, make a quick meal, or throw in some laundry.
Floor Seat: Once baby starts sitting up, you can transition to this super cute Fisherprice floor seat. This one in particular is good for baby's development as it put's baby's hips in the right place.
Monitor: We have this baby monitor camera and it can attach to a wall or ceiling or it can be set on a flat surface. It's very versatile and we can see baby girl from the phone app!
Most mommas end up with way too many newborn and 0-3 month outfits because they are just too darn cute to pass up! I would recommend steering clear of these sizes until after your baby shower or any other event where you anticipate gifts for baby. Keep in mind you really only need a week's worth of seasonally appropriate clothes for baby.
Bamboo Onesies: I love bamboo onesies and sleepers, so I have added my favorite ones above. They are not cheap though, so that's the downside.
Cotton Onesies: These onesies are reasonably priced and super cute!
Bamboo Sleepers: Baby can live in these. Again, a bit pricey but worth looking into.
Cotton Sleepers: This pack is perfect for everyday wear!
Socks: Babies do not need shoes until they start walking, but they do need socks! I prefer to keep socks neutral so they match every outfit and these socks have grip on the bottom for when baby starts crawling.
Normally I wouldn't even register for toys and books because people buy them for you anyway, but I do want to share that the most engaging toys oftentimes are the simplest.
Stacking cups, rings, balls, rattles, blocks, crinkly books, and these silicone fruit teethers go a long way. My baby always has one of these toys in hand. The great thing about simple toys is that they are open-ended and allow baby to use them in creative ways!
I hope you found this registry useful! You're already doing a great job, momma!
